I have a K3765 USB Mobile Broadband modem.
I have been to the following page and downloaded the latest Vodafone Mobile Connect software (for OSX) and all is well and I can successfully use the modem: Mobile broadband updates and user guides
I notice on this page there are no posted firmware updates for this USB modem.
So my question is: Given the firmware is quite old, there are no updates available, and the OSX software onboad the USB modem is very much out of date and does not work on the most populare versions of OSX - is it possible to somehow replace the OSX software onboard with the latest version of the Vodafone Mobile Connect software?
While of course the latest downloadable version works just fine, it is kinda difficult to download this in order to use the modem on a new computer when you are usuing the modem to get interenet in the first place
I realize that I could probably put an SD card on board loaded with the latest version of the software, but was hoping to somehow make use of the onboard flash rather than having go buy an SD card: Hidden firmware? Workaround to make the filesystem writeable?
Thanks.
