Mobile broadband connection issue

Recently moved to Vodafone prepaid from 3 and not getting any signal therefore cannot connect. Rang Vodafone on Friday 30-08-13 at 9.45am to transfer over from 3, gave the Vodafone sim card serial numbers then selected the plan wanted and was told that the sim would be activated and would be able to connect in 4hrs time. It has been 36hrs now and still cannot connect. Have rang customer services after 24hrs and was told the sim has not been activated! Is there a waiting time to be activated due to the influx of last minutes transfer over from 3 to Vodafone? Will wait for 2 days for the activation process to occur. If nothing happen then will try to resolve this in store and maybe get a decent answer.
